Airplanes undergo conversion and maintenance in Tianjin Haite’s workshop.

Workers are busy converting and maintaining airplanes at Tianjin Haite Aircraft Engineering Company, located in Tianjin Airport Area, one of the three key parts of the Tianjin Pilot Free Trade Zone.

Last year, the company successfully converted four Boeing 737 airplanes from passenger to freighter configuration. And it reported an output value of $214 million.

The achievement is thanks to many preferable policies rolled out by government. For example, foreign airplanes seeking maintenance in China can fly directly in and out of the bonded service area.

This policy alone helps the company cut costs of about 200,000 yuan for each airplane, in addition to time saved.

Chen Jiancong, general manager of the company, said that with support of local government it has achieved notable business growth since it settled in the area in 2014.

Tianjin Airport Area now has provided bonded manufacturing & maintenance services for a great deal of high-end manufactured equipment used in marine and aviation applications.
