The 4th Tianjin International Shipping Industry Expo is underway in Tianjin until June 5, bringing together leading experts, industry executives, and policymakers from around the world to explore the future of AI-powered shipping and port development.

The event, which highlights the growing role of AI in accelerating the industry's green, digital, and intelligent transformation, attracted more than 800 domestic and international guests to its opening ceremony on June 2, with speakers including representatives from China's transport sector, global maritime organizations, and major shipping enterprises, who shared insights into emerging trends and innovation strategies shaping the future of global maritime transport.

Five keynote speakers addressed topics ranging from autonomous vessels and data-driven decision-making to AI-enabled logistics and smart port construction. A newly introduced roundtable session gathered experts from China and abroad to discuss AI applications, regional shipping cooperation, supply chain upgrades, and the development of intelligent ports.

Two major industry reports were released during the opening ceremony, offering valuable data and analysis on China's port economy and global AI applications in the shipping sector. Several key projects were also signed, covering green and intelligent ship retrofitting and upgrades to advanced energy equipment.

The expo features a series of forums and industry exchanges, focusing on AI-powered water transport, marine economic innovation, and international shipping cooperation. Tianjin aims to use this platform to strengthen global partnerships and accelerate its development into a world-class shipping hub and smart port center.
