The 2026 World Intelligence Expo has achieved full green electricity coverage, according to China Huaneng Group.
Recently, Huaneng (Tianjin) Energy Sales Co completed a transaction of 800 green certificates with the expo's main venue, equivalent to 800,000 kilowatt-hours of green electricity. The clean energy usage is expected to save about 244 metric tons of standard coal and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by around 456 tons.
As the exclusive power service provider for this year's expo, China Huaneng Group will supply green electricity entirely from its renewable energy projects in Tianjin. The power will be generated and consumed locally throughout the event.
China Huaneng Group said the initiative demonstrates its commitment to supporting major events in Tianjin with clean energy solutions and promoting low-carbon development.
The company added that providing full green power coverage for the expo has set a benchmark for hosting carbon-neutral events and reflects its ongoing strategic cooperation with the city of Tianjin.
