Nearly 60 foreign experts, students, expatriates, and media representatives from countries including Italy, the United Kingdom, and Australia visited Jinghai district, Tianjin, on April 29, as part of the Exploring Tianjin cultural exchange series.
The group explored popular spots such as Caigongzhuang town, known as "musical instrument town", Tianjin University of Sport, and the TISH Institute of Sports and Health Sciences, gaining firsthand experience of Jinghai's integrated development of music culture, sports-education fusion, and smart health innovation.
At Tianjin Oves Musical Instrument, the visitors toured modern production lines and learned about the traditional craftsmanship behind wind instruments. Caigongzhuang town produces over 400,000 instruments annually, with more than 80 percent exported to over 20 countries and regions.
A live cultural performance further enlivened the atmosphere, featuring Chinese classics and multilingual songs performed by both local and international participants, culminating in a vibrant group singalong.
At Tianjin University of Sport, guests explored traditional cultural displays, including clay sculpture techniques. Many also tried martial arts, experiencing the strength and rhythm of Chinese tradition. Later, they visited a smart sports health lab to test wearable monitoring devices and digital fitness technologies.
Participants praised the trip as both inspiring and eye-opening, highlighting Jinghai's unique blend of culture, sports, and innovation. The event strengthened people-to-people exchanges and showcased Tianjin's growing global connectivity and cultural appeal.
