Hexi district in Tianjin held a commendation conference honoring 230 outstanding businesses and 45 outstanding representatives.

In 2022, the number of new market entities reached 10,000 in Hexi, bringing the total number to more than 77,000, including more than 200 industrial enterprises above designated size.

The achievement was greatly attributed to the district's improved business environment. It implemented various preferential policies, and reduced and postponed tax payments of 1.33 billion yuan for market entities. It also vigorously promoted financial services, held 13 bank-government-enterprise meetings and helped enterprises obtain financing exceeding five billion yuan.

In 2022, the GDP of Hexi reached 112.96 billion yuan ($16.45 billion), a year-on-year increase of 2 percent, ranking second in Tianjin.

The district's general public budget revenue was 5.06 billion yuan, and the fixed asset investment amounted to 16.4 billion yuan, up by 8.5 percent, ranking first in the central urban area of the city.

The industrial development of Hexi remained in good standing, with finance, digital economy, and design industries developing rapidly.

Last year, the district had a total of over 1,100 financial institutions, and the balance of deposits and loans of financial institutions reached 1,094.18 billion yuan, setting a record high. In addition, the district had over 1,800 digital economy enterprises, which generated revenue of nearly 10 billion yuan.

As many as 47 projects with an investment of more than 50 million yuan each as well as 144 enterprises from Beijing and Hebei province settled in the district. The actual use of domestic investment amounted to 13.64 billion yuan, ranking first in the central urban area of Tianjin.

During the Spring Festival holiday from Jan 21-27, the district saw a boom in consumer spending. Approximately 732,000 people visited seven major shopping malls in the district, a year-on-year increase of 37.3 percent. The turnover reached 126 million yuan, rising by 38.5 percent from last year.
