Tianjin University inaugurated the Research Center for Corporate Compliance (RCCC) on Jan 9 and held the first working conference.

The center has four major objectives: providing a high-end platform for corporate compliance research, building a high-end think tank for government and judiciary, offering a series of social services for corporate compliance, and promoting an LLM program to cultivate “Chief Compliance Officers”, said Professor Liu Shuang from Tianjin University’s Law School, the director of the Research Centre.

“At present, international competition is reflected more in the clashes of rules and laws. Chinese enterprises are facing increasingly complex domestic and international environments and severe risk challenges,” said Sun Youhai, Dean of TJU’s Law School. “So it is necessary to accelerate the level of compliance management in accordance with the law and ensure that the tasks outlined by China’s new development concepts and new development pattern are steadily carried out in line with the rule of law. It is timely and significant to build a high-level RCCC at Tianjin University.”

By building this high-end platform for corporate compliance and a domestic first-class think tank, it aims to serve the high-quality development of Tianjin's economy and society.

Representatives from Tianjin University, the Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, the Municipal People’s Procuratorate, the Municipal Security and Stability Advisory Committee, and the Municipal Federation of Industry and Commerce attended the conference.

The center has been jointly established by the Tianjin Municipal Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, the Tianjin Municipal People's Procuratorate, the Tianjin Municipal Security and Stability Advisory Committee, the Tianjin Federation of Industry and Commerce and Tianjin University.
