Two intercity high-speed railways connecting cities in North China's Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region entered operation on Dec 30, with stops at Baodi Station and Baodi South Station.

One railway links Beijing with Tangshan, Hebei province. It starts from the Beijing City Subcenter Railway Station in Tongzhou district and runs across Tongzhou, Langfang in Hebei and Tianjin's Baodi district. The total length of the line is about 150 kilometers, with a top speed of 350km/h.

The other line links Beijing with Tianjin. It shares the same starting point and several stations with the line linking Beijing and Hebei, until Baodi Railway Station in Tianjin. Then it runs across the city's Baodi, Wuqing, Beichen, and Dongli districts and terminates at Binhai West Railway Station in Tianjin's Binhai New Area. In the early stages of operation, trains will run between Baodi and Beichen in Tianjin.

With both lines operating, the railway network structure in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region will be further improved and greatly facilitate travel in the region.

The traffic system of Baodi Station is also undergoing improvements, connecting 16 expressways, and create a modern comprehensive transportation hub integrating high-speed railway and long-distance buses.

During the ceremony, Baodi, Tangshan and Tongzhou signed an agreement to join efforts in developing tourism and the regional economy. 

Baodi district will actively take over the non-capital functions of Beijing, focusing on regional headquarters, technology finance, technology innovation incubation, digital intelligence, and modern business. Up to now, more than 150 physical projects from Beijing have been relocated to Baodi.

Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, a high-tech incubator, is an important platform for the coordinated development of the Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei region. Up to now, focusing on high-end equipment manufacturing, new energy and new materials, artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing, biomedicine and medical equipment, the park has more than 900 enterprises, with national high-tech enterprises accounting for nearly 80 percent.
