Tuanshanzi village in Jizhou district, Tianjin, now serves as a year round resort, but it was a different story before the power upgrade by the State Grid.
“Tourists mostly just visited our town in the summer and at weekends." Wang Cuihua, owner of a guesthouse in Tuanshanzi village, shared.
“According to our data, we saw that the power used by Tuanshanzi village’s agritainment changed substantially with the seasons and we inferred that this might be because of their unstable business situation.” Sheng Jiguang, deputy general manager of the State Grid Tianjin Jizhou Company, said. “So we thought that we might make greater efforts to enrich the diversity of its recreational facilities in order to help the villiage develop."
In August 2020, the company upgraded the power equipment in mountainous areas, which supported the village’s upgrading of its tourist facilities. The new playground with the theme of “parent-child adventure” has proven to be very successful, attracting tourists from the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
The company is fully utilizing its power data to serve the development of the rural economy and vitalization. It has constructed a rural revitalization power index evaluation system, which can analyze and evaluate the development of villages in Jizhou district in the aspects of industry, livability, cultural education and people's livelihood.
Sheng Jiguang said: “After several rounds of power grid upgrades, the average power capacity of rural households in Jizhou has increased by almost 2.5 times, with some concentrated areas of electric heating having increased almost 5 fold."
Jiang Dairu, director of the Data Management Service Center of the State Grid Tianjin Xintong Company, introduced: "In the next step, we will draw on the experiences of domestic advanced power data analysis to refine the indicator system and solidify the gains made in the work of rural vitalization.”
