In 2021, Ninghe district achieved a GDP of 35.97 billion yuan ($5.40 billion), a year-on-year growth of 7.4 percent, ranking first in the city for its growth rate. Ninghe currently has planned 107 major projects for this year, with a total investment of 17 billion yuan.

Focus on manufacturing industry and strengthen platform construction

Ninghe gives full play to the leading role of the Future Science City and the Civil Aviation University of China and is developing strategical emerging industries. It has formed five leading pillar industries, including ferrous smelting and processing, paper making and paper products, metal products, non-metallic mineral products and automobile production. It has made achievements in the vehicle spare parts industrial chain. Future Science City has introduced more than 60 auto parts suppliers, over 10 of which are Fortune Global 500 enterprises。

Enhance investment promotion

Ninghe uses Future Science City to drive its development. Ninghe has been carrying out regular investment promotion events to attract businesses and investments.

In 2021, the district attracted 9.7 billion yuan in domestic investment, a year-on-year growth of 19 percent. It introduced 102 projects with a total investment of 12 billion yuan.

So far this year, the district has attracted 5.6 billion yuan in domestic investment, a year-on-year growth of 25 percent, ranking fourth in the city for its growth rate; it has attracted 36 projects with a total investment of 6.4 billion yuan.

In the middle of April, Beijing Jiuyun Technology Development Group Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Ninghe to invest one billion yuan for constructing the Jiuyun green building industry base for the purpose of developing new materials, new technologies, energy conservation and environment protection industries.

Golden Wheats Holding Group plans to rent a plant of 10,000 square meters in Ninghe to build an inactivated transgenic soybean base with an annual output of 600,000 tons, which can generate 2.7 billion yuan in annual sales volume, contribute more than 50 million yuan in total annual tax revenues and bring job opportunities for more than 50 people.

Optimize business environment to provide better service for enterprises

Ninghe holds the philosophy that the business environment is the key to productivity. It has coordinated functional departments to provide guarantees for projects carried out in the district.

Ninghe has improved its mechanism to attract and retain talents by carrying out talent policies and strengthening government-school-enterprise cooperation, which provides intellectual support for enterprises’ development.

By the end of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), Ninghe will form an innovative enterprise echelon and speed up the introduction and incubation of leading enterprises that own key products and core technologies with independent intellectual property rights.

Ninghe district will further optimize approval services and provide quality service such as online service and simplified procedures for enterprises and projects.
