On Dec 13, the guide Foreigners Living In Tianjin Know Everything was released in Tianjin to better serve foreign residents, enhance understanding and friendship between Tianjin and the world and promote the high-quality development of Tianjin's economy and society.

A press conference for the guide’s release was co-held by Foreign Affairs Office of Tianjin Municipal People’s Government and Tianjin People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

The guide starts by introducing Tianjin’s geographical location, administrative divisions, population, climate, natural resources, transportation and ports, scientific and educational resources, history and culture, and international exchanges.

The guide itself covers employment, schooling, business, medical treatment, housing, transportation, tourism, daily life, entry and exit procedures, and emergencies. It was written in response to common concerns among Tianjin’s foreign residents and provides the latest guidelines and information.

An appendix contains a Tianjin rail transit map, flight information and other information on departments that foreign residents might find useful.

It took the local government half a year to compile the guide.
