As a concrete method of promoting Belt and Road cooperation and building a China-Africa community with a shared future, the Luban Workshops teach people in host countries about Chinese standards, models, equipment and solutions.

More young Africans are eager to improve their skills and find new opportunities for employment by attending the workshops.

Wang Zhan, director of the Center for African Studies at China's prestigious Wuhan University, noted that Luban Workshops focus on cultivating technical professionals with good critical thinking skills, practical and innovative abilities and international perspectives according to local needs. Their establishment can be seen as a long-run mutually beneficial move, laying a solid foundation for multi-field and in-depth Sino-African cooperation.

In November 2020, the Luban Workshop Construction Alliance was established. More high-quality vocational colleges across the country are participating in the project, effectively promoting people-to-people bonds between China and the host countries.
