By Xu Simin, 2019-class undergraduate majoring in Clinical Medicine

Introduction: The girl wears a dancing shoe on her right foot, while on the left one she wears nothing. The bare left foot is totally her own choice made without any external interference. As every individual has the right to pursue the life they want, we can eventually become the ideal person that we have imaged.

07 War, Future and Hand

By Tang Haihan, 2019-class undergraduate majoring in Clinical Medicine

Introduction: The integration of human organs and mechanical elements leads us to the future, showing the mixed beauty of medicine and industry. The flower and the bullet, on the opposite sides of the hand, reveal a cruel beauty in a contrasting way: survival and death, goodliness and war. Meanwhile, while the mutilated hand without a thumb tells of the cruelty of war, the remaining fingers are in a position of victory revealing a strong will for struggle and a bright hope of overcoming any difficulty.

08 Nice cup

By Qi Wangzhi, 2020-class undergraduate in the trial class of New Medicine at Hengrui Academy

Introduction: A hand with tactical gloves is picking up a skull, to sighs of “A nice skull cup indeed”. The work intends to condemn inhumane behaviors like killing innocent civilians and insulting bodies, and to satirize unjust wars of aggression in the name of “human rights and freedom”.

09 Flying

By Wu Xiaona, 2019-class undergraduate majoring in Clinical Medicine

Introduction: The brain is a vital human organ where mental activities, learning and memorization happen. For various reasons, people tend to be stuck into certain fixed ways of thinking when learning or working. The work chooses a hot-air balloon as a substitute for a human brain, in the hope of getting rid of fixed mindsets and introducing free thinking.

10 To the Stars

By Liu Jieqing, 2019-class undergraduate majoring in Clinical Medicine

Introduction: Anatomic hand bones and some hand nerves are the main body of the work. Outstretched hand bones, nerves and stars suggest human’s aspiration and individuals’ inner motives and outer perceptions, as well as the brightness and unknowns of their future, respectively. The work indicates our persistent pursuit of knowledge and exploration of the unknown in the historical course of human development. It also shows TJU’s unremitting efforts in discipline and scientific research.

Li Xiaohong, the deputy dean of the Clinical Medicine Department at TJU, expressed her expectation that these creative drawings will help students discover the beauty of anatomy, medicine and human life, thereby inspiring their great passion for medical exploration and consolidating their quest for related knowledge. In the near future, they will grow into outstanding medical workers with critical thinking, warm hearts and great creativity.

How surprising artistic complicated anatomy can be, with images like begonias on the heart and hand bones stretching out to the universe!

What are the surprises your major can bring to us?
