Tianjin’s Hedong district devotes itself to education development

Tianjin's Hedong district has seen continued improvement in government efforts to reform and balance its educational development, according to a report from local government published on Dec 9.

Officials said the district has prioritized high-quality primary education and campus safety.

In 2019, it has expanded the preschool capacity by 8,280 students, which is expected to reach 8,460 by the year end.

It has also sped up adding support educational facilities in residential communities.

Measures to promote the development of private kindergartens has also been put in place in terms of upgrading equipment and facilities and providing government subsidies.

Meanwhile, the district has also quickened the pace of work on improving junior high school education.

School alliances have been set up to facilitate cooperation and resources sharing, in order to enhance and balance the development of regional middle high schools.

Officials said great importance has been attached to campus safety by establishing student file management, and strengthening accident prevention and control for such things as fires.
