Tianjin's Jinnan district is furthering expanding its reform measures and green development, which has to date yielded fruitful results, according to local officials.
The district boosts a green belts, which accounts for nearly half of Tianjin's total green area and the area added more forests and natural scenic spots in 2018.
It has also responded actively to the Xiaozhan Rice Revitalization Campaign – announcing it would increase the area to 66,667 hectares by 2022.
The district's administrative committee has put in place legal measures to improve governmental services and market entities, in a bid to promote the business environment.
In the first three quarters of the current year a total of 890 million yuan ($127 million) in taxes were cut, with the favorable policies also issued by the local government, benefiting 6,000 medium to small enterprises, according to local officials.
In addition, special loans totaling 18 million yuan were issued to supporting start-ups.
The district has also, by implementing the Haihe Talent Plan, recruited 3,400 professionals.
It is currently making continual efforts to improve the region’s educational, medical, financial, and other public facilities.
Officials said that by relying on the rich resources in science and education talent of Haihe Education Park, it has vigorously developed industries such as artificial intelligence, biomedicines, new energy and new materials.
Last year, Jinnan district ranked first in Tianjin in terms of the assessed performance of district-level government services.
