Tianjin City Vocational College is a public full-time vocational college duly approved by the Tianjin Municipal Government and filed with the Ministry of Education. With a history of more than 50 years, it is an integrated college offering programs in science, engineering, liberal arts, economics, management, and fine arts.

Covering a land area of 150 mu and a construction area of about 70,000 square meters, the college has a total asset value of RMB 150 million and a total investment on teaching and research equipment of RMB 38 million. It enrolls students from 29 provinces, municipalities and regions across China. Currently, it hosts over 8,000 students and a full-time faculty team of whom 43% are holders of post-graduate degrees and above. Its library has a collection of more than 400,000 paper books and 100,000 digital publications.

With fiscal support from the central government, the Modern Logistics Management Training Center has 12 leading training rooms for warehousing and distribution, automatic recognition, trade logistics, logistic information technology, bar code application, and ERP financial information.

The college also hosts the Automatic Technology Training Center that offers 21 training rooms on intelligent building engineering, CNC maintenance, automatic line installation and debugging, mechanical design, PLC, network control, robot innovation, digital product maintenance, and computer assembly and maintenance.

There are also fully-functional training centers on community management and services, finance and trade, hotel management, and digital arts.

In addition to 74 on-campus training rooms, the college operates 97 off-campus bases jointly with companies and entities such as Teda Central Hotel and the Hebei District Civil Affairs Bureau to meet its general teaching needs. Among its partners, Tianjin Tongguang Group Digital Communication Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Amide Information Technology Co., Ltd. were among the first demonstrative off-campus training bases in Tianjin Municipality.
