TCU hasset up a series of platforms for scientific research, technological innovationand industrial cooperation, including one engineering research center of theMinistry of Education of China, and five key laboratories, eight engineeringresearch centers, one key research base for humanities and social sciences, onecollaborative innovation center on green building of Tianjin Municipal and soon.

TCUimplements the strategy of 'Research-driven development', emphasizingfundamental research and highlighting specialties, which leads to theconsiderable increase in technological innovation and quality. The significantachievements include over 100 projects respectively sponsored by the NationalBasic Research (973) Program, the National Key Technologies R&D Program,and the National Natural Science Foundation China and so on.
