The "2019 China Tourism Industry Expo", organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Tianjin Government -- kicks off today at Tianjin's Meijiang Convention and Exhibition Center and will wind up at the end of Sept 8.

Having been held for 10 consecutive seasons, this year's event focuses on: "promoting culture and tourism integration and pooling together industrial-development achievements."

Covering an area of 50,000 square meters containing as many as 3,000 booths, the expo has  sections on domestic tourism, international tourism, travel gear, cultural products, Tianjin tourism and handicrafts and other examples of intangible cultural heritage.

Organizers said the Expo's rich content is designed to show the achievements to date of the culture and tourism sectors.

In the domestic tours exhibition area, there is information about traveling to 28 provinces. This includes information on scenic spots, hotels, travel agencies, airlines, travel associations, universities and industry research institutes.

In the foreign tourism section, travel firms from nearly 30 countries -- including the US, Germany, and Spain – are displaying their specialized products. Discount travel routes and other products are also on offer.

The Expo has featured more than 20 conferences, forums and shows related to culture and tourism, providing a platform for attendees to learn more about the industry and government policies -- to help them predict where the industry is going in the future.

In addition, the Forum for the Development of the Culture and Tourism Industry and the Traders' Fair held by the organizing committee were staged to help the industry develop, facilitating cooperation and communications between exhibitors.

The event aims to integrate and facilitate tourism industry collaboration and exchange information about the achievements of the culture and tourism sectors in China and abroad.
