Tianjin's Baodi district sees booming manufacturing and service sectors

Industry structure of Baodi district has been notably optimized especially after opening up and reform. Shares of the primary, secondary, and tertiary industrial structures have been adjusted to a ratio of 3.5: 46.5: 50 where service and manufacturing industry contributing 50 and 46.5 percent respectively to the district's economic growth 

In 2018, the total industrial output value increased by 20.2 percent, while the industrial added value increased by 25.1 percent. Among them, the strategic emerging industries contributed to 54 percent of the total industrial output value.

907 projects settled in the newly built industrial park with an investment of 65.5 billion yuan ($9.52 billion).

The district has witnessed refining agricultural development. Its featuring high-quality rice breeding and characteristic aquatic product covers 421,000 mu, accounting for 62.6 percent of the rice planting area in Tianjin. It is also the main producing area of high quality rice in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

Baodi's strategic role in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development has been increasingly important.

It is listed as one of the four major development axes areas with Beijing, Qinhuangdao and Tangshan, especially with the construction of inter-city railways.

With public service facilities ready for use, 17 high-tech companies and R&D centers such as Beijing Science and Technology Research Institute have settled here.

Tax reduction policy has been fully implemented and it benefits all people.

In-depth implementation of innovation-driven development strategy has supported 150 national high-tech enterprises with 150 million yuan.

It made notable progress in building an ecological civilization and livable environment. It devoted serious energy to ecological conservation, with purposeful devotion in pursuing green development. By 2020, the forest coverage rate of the whole district is expected to reach 40 percent or more.

About 24,000 new jobs have been created each year under the effort of local government and labor market. Schools at all level have seen increasing resources and improving facilities.

The district is also focusing on promoting cultural richness and providing low-fare tickets to people. As a result, more than 100 performances per year welcome over 50,000 visitors. Competitions and other activities have also been held to enrich local cultural life.
