On April 16 (Tuesday), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held the 18th promotion event presenting Chinese provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities under the theme "China in the New Era: Tianjin's Vitality Goes to the World" at the Blue Hall of the Ministry.

More than 500 people including, Vice Foreign Minister Le Yucheng, Vice Foreign Minister Qin Gang, Vice Foreign Minister Zhang Hanhui, diplomatic envoys in China from over 130 countries, representatives from international organizations in China, delegates from industrial and commercial sectors, Chinese and foreign experts, scholars as well as journalists attended the event.

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi delivered a speech. Secretary of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee Li Hongzhong addressed the event, and Mayor of Tianjin Zhang Guoqing, gave the presentation.

"Tianjin is a place where land and maritime Silk Road meet, as well as an important city along the New Eurasian Land Bridge Economic Corridor," Wang said.

In recent years, the city has committed to promoting high-quality development, integrated itself to the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei coordinated development strategy and has built the pilot free trade zone, he added.

Li said that Tianjin will continue opening up and strengthening cooperation and exchanges with other countries in areas like trade, science and technology, education, culture and tourism. Zhang invited investors from home and abroad to invest and develop in the city to achieve mutual benefits and win-win development.

Russian Ambassador to China Andrey Denisov, Singaporean Ambassador to China Luo Jialiang, Angola Ambassador to China Netu, South Korean Ambassador to China Zhang Xiacheng, German Ambassador to China Clemens von Goetze respectively introduced the cooperation situation of their respective countries with Tianjin, and expressed that they were deeply impressed by Tianjin's rich historical and cultural heritage as well as its innovative development in recent years. They also expressed the willingness to continue to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between their respective countries and Tianjin in economy, trade,transportation,investment, education, manufacturing.

Tianjin, one of the four municipalities in China directly under thecentral Government, is also the largest open industrial and commercial city in northern China.

Over the past 70 years, it has made important contributions to China's economic and social development, and is now actively integrating into the Belt and Road Initiative and increasing its status as an open, inclusive and livable international city.
