Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology City is an important achievement made by Tianjin Baodi district and Zhongguancun in implementing the national strategy of coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei. It is a key project to transform Baodi into a new city by receiving Beijing non-capital functions, as well as a pilot project for Zhongguancun to implement integrated development management.

Zhu Liangliang, head of a technology company in Beijing, went to Baodi district after the Spring Festival to consult settlement policy. "This time I came to Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology City to look at the market and policy environment here," he said, "Tianjin is very attractive considering its manufacturing advantages, including having lower production and logistics costs compared to Beijing. What's more, it can provide Tianjin household registration to talents of the company."

"Baodi district features convenient transportation to Beijing and Tianjin. With having more attention to the integrated development of industry and the city and attracting talents, Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology City has undertaken many projects from Beijing with notable investment," said Wang Hao, director of Zhongguancun Science and Technology City Management Committee.

Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology City is expected to provide 117,000 jobs, attracting a resident population of 58,000, and gathering a large number of high-end industries and talents.

Beijing Kingbio Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was established in Beijing Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park in 2007. It specializes in the research and development of pet vaccines. After more than ten years of development, it was officially registered in Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology City at the end of last year to conduct the industrialization of scientific research results.

"We plan to build a modern veterinary drug production base in Baodi district. At present, under the support of Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology City, all the procedures are moving ahead smoothly. The products are expected to be available for sale within two years," said Chen Huangshi, manager of Beijing Kingbio Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

Since the official launch of the project in 2017, Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology City has signed 12 project investment agreements with a total investment of 1.729 billion yuan, and 523 acres of industrial land.

As attracting enterprises, the city has a bigger goal. It plans to realize innovation-oriented integrated development of industry and city by featuring four star industries, namely artificial intelligence and intelligent manufacturing, new energy and new materials, biomedicine and medical equipment, and high-end equipment manufacturing.

"2019 is an important year for Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology City. Standing at a new starting point for high-quality development, it must be more pragmatic and more open in project implementation, and strive to achieve breakthroughs in terms of undertaking non-capital functions of Beijing, regional cooperation and integrated development," said Gao Zhongcheng, chairman of Beijing-Tianjin Zhongguancun Science and Technology City Development Co., Ltd.
