The 4th innovation and creativity joint exhibition on intangible cultural heritages of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Gansu, Guizhou and Hunan was launched at the Tianjin Art Museum on Nov18, displaying more than 200 intangible cultural heritage (ICH) projects and over 400 ICH art works and ICH cultural creative products that showcase the distinctive ICH cultures of different regions. Different from the showroom, this joint exhibition has adopted immersive scene building for the first time, having designed the main exhibition area with traditional Chinese architecture in order to provide visitors with an immersive experience of ICH projects in the area. The exhibition divides the exhibition areas by the different cultural characteristics of different regions, allowing visitors to experience the unique beauty of different regions.

After the opening ceremony, many ICH inheritors interpreted ICH techniques to visitors. Visitors can appreciate the charm of traditional techniques by experiencing ICH’s making processes. “Today, I experienced the making of dough modelling, a Tianjin ICH, which allowed me to learn more about ICH. I think it was very meaningful.” said a lady after her on-site experience.

This joint exhibition was the first time that inheritors of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Gansu, Guizhou and Hunan participated in the event and signed the convention on the safeguarding of ICH inheritors by video. In the future, the six regions will enhance cooperation on ICH protection and seek further development of ICH.
