On Aug 16, the projects undertaken by China Construction First Group Construction & Development Co., Ltd,: the museum of traditional Chinese medicine and the library of Tianjin University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TUTCM), started in Tianjin.

Zuo Qiang, deputy secretary of the CPC China Construction First Group committee and general manager of China Construction First Group, said that TUTCM is the only international university of traditional Chinese medicine approved by the former State Education Commission. After the completion of the museum of traditional Chinese medicine, it will become one of the largest museums presenting traditional Chinese medicine in China. China Construction First Group will strictly abide by relevant government regulations to complete the project and make due contributions to the development of traditional Chinese medicine.

The project is located in Jinghai district, with a total construction area of about 66,000 square meters. Library, museum, common area and graduate school are included in the construction project.

The building area of the museum is about 24,000 square meters, which is divided into different zones demonstrating the history of traditional Chinese medicine, the health culture, the Chinese medicine specimen, and the Jingu 600-year exhibition of traditional Chinese medicine. The library has a building area of more than 27,000 square meters and a collection of 1.5 million books. The total number of seats is expected to reach 5,000. Upon completion, it will become a modern library devoted to traditional Chinese medicine.
