Tianjin’s Jinnan district rolled out measures to further ensure medical services to residents under lockdown while sparing no efforts to curb the spread of novel coronavirus, authorities said at a news conference on Wednesday.

Community workers and volunteers are available to deliver medicine to residents in communities that have been sealed off.

Online platforms have been created by authorities to buy medicine and healthcare products.

If residents need to see doctors, they can ask to be taken to designated hospitals and will be brought back home when they’re finished.

Hotlines offered by healthcare institutions also offer consultation services.

Patients with fevers or other COVID symptoms can be transferred to hospitals for timely treatment. The district plans to allocate medical staff to temporary medical stations near communities, offering timely and efficient help.

Express channels will be set up to provide continuous medical services to pregnant women, newborns, critically ill patients, and those who require hemodialysis, radiotherapy or chemotherapy.

At present, there are about 358,000 residents in 202 communities that are under strict lockdowns.

The district’s authorities are ensuring supplies of grain, meat, vegetables, edible oil, milk, eggs and other non-staple foods in these communities. Prices in local markets will be kept stable, according to local authorities.

All households can assign a representative to go out to purchase food and daily necessities every two days.
