Tuanbo Lake in Jinghai district is a must-see for tourists in Tianjin.

Tianjin Health Industrial Park, next to Tuanbo Lake in Jinghai district, recently added a new player--Tianjin Medical University is planning a new campus there with investment of 6.3 billion yuan($964.67 million).

The new campus will cover 1.3 square kilometers and is scheduled to be put into use in September 2024, at which time it will begin to benefit more than 17,000 students and teachers for studying and living.

Tianjin Health Industrial Park has continuously pooled its medical resources with a whopping accumulated investment of 50 billion yuan since its construction in 2008.

Now, it has gradually formed a cluster of healthcare enterprises covering education, medical care, rehabilitation and recuperation for the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.

The park is an important link between Xiong'an New Area in Hebei province and Binhai New Area in Tianjin, and serves as a hub of ecology, economy and transport between the two areas.

It enjoys convenient transportation as it is well connected in all directions: it's just 150 kilometers to Beijing, 80 km to Xiong'an New Area, 10 km to downtown Tianjin, and 30 km to Binhai International Airport.

The park is included in the construction of the "One District with 21 Parks" of the Tianjin National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone and has become an important carrier to support the regional development of Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei.

The park has rich sports resources including 23 international standard sports venues such as Tuanbo Stadium, a tennis center, a bowling hall, a shooting hall, a velodrome, baseball and softball fields and a hockey field.

Many important international and national competitions have been held there, boosting the formation of the Tuanbo Lake International Sports Rim.

Along with the development of the sports industry, the park is gathering more medical education resources. Many national-level hospitals and institutions have settled in the park, with three universities in Tianjin setting up campuses and conducting exchanges with numerous Japanese universities.

After more than 10 years of development, the park has been honored as a National Health Medical Tourism Demonstration Base, a National Sports Industry Demonstration Base, a National TCM Tourism Demonstration Base and a Tianjin National Independent Innovation Demonstration Zone.
