A total of 60,000 doses of Xuebijing injections have been dispatched from Tianjin to Shijiazhuang, Tangshan, Xingtai, Cangzhou and other places in Hebei province to combat the ongoing epidemic.

Produced by Tianjin Chase Sun Pharmaceutical Co, Xuebijing injections are one of three traditional Chinese medicines pinpointed by government authorities as ways to treat COVID-19 pneumonia. Research has proven that it can reduce the fatality rate of patients with severe pneumonia by 8.8 percent.

The company overcame difficulties in emergent inventory deployment and meeting the strict conditions for transporting the injections (they need to be stored at a designated temperature and transported by drivers who have to take nucleic acid tests before departure), and successfully delivered them in two days. The company is now preparing to produce more.

Three traditional Chinese medicines - Jinhua Qinggan granules, Lianhua Qingwen medicine and Xuebijing injections - have been proved effective by clinical data to show great performance in treating COVID-19 patients.
