Relatively close to the capital and about 100 kilometers from Tianjin's city center, Panshan Mountain is not only famous for being a summer resort but also has beauty and fun to offer in the fall.

Qing emperor Qianlong (1736-1795) visited there some  32 times and is said to have declared: "If I had known of Panshan before, I wouldn't have gone to the southern part of the Yangtze River."
