Beijing students visit Tianjin

With the arrival of 400 students from the universities of the capital at Yujiapu Station in Binhai New Area on Oct 10, the two-day Beijing Students' Tianjin Visit started.  

The students visited Tianjin International Biomedical Research Institute, Binhai-Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, and the Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

In these two days the rapid developments of Tianjin and Haihe Talents program have left a deep impression on the students.

"Up to date, more than 1,000 students from the Beijing universities have visited Tianjin. A large number of outstanding students chose Tianjin to start their business, realizing their career dreams," staff of the Department of Talents of the Municipal Committee said, adding "We hope more high-level talents from Tsinghua University, Peking University and Renmin University, to name a few, can came to learn about Tianjin and work and start businesses in Tianjin. Cooperation with the schools can also be strengthened." 

Many students who are preparing for their entrepreneurship expressed their wish to try out Tianjin after learning about the city. Students consulted on their project prospects and cooperation models on site after listening to introductions.

"This is the first time I have come to Binhai New Area. I feel Binhai is warm and open for students from outside Tianjin to start business," said Ph.D. Zhao Lin, Department of Engineering Physics, Tsinghua University, adding "Intelligent Manufacturing Emerging industries such as bio-pharmaceuticals have developed rapidly in Tianjin. There are many preferential policies for college students to start their own businesses. After returning to school, I would like to recommend them to my peers who are also starting businesses."

In Binhai New Area Library, Song Yanping from Peking University marveled while taking pictures, stating "I have seen this library on the Internet. It was once selected by American Time magazine as one of the "22 Greatest Buildings In The World". Today I finally got to personally see it. It is not only filled with cultural atmosphere, but also has a beautiful design, which is really impressing."

Chen Ai, staff with career guidance center of Peking University, said to the reporter, “There are a lot of applicants to attend the event. We have selected about 100 people who come from outside Tianjin and graduate students. Everyone visit with goals and hopes to become attached to Tianjin.

Zhang Zhaomeng, a Ph.D. student in basic medicine from Peking University said, "Tianjin's bio-pharmaceutical industry is developing rapidly and has a broad development prospect. By applying professional expertise, it fit for both working people and entrepreneurs. I hope to develop in Tianjin after graduating."
